Prescription Diet i/d Low Fat Original tins are now going to be manufactured in the new EU facility.
Due to the difference in manufacturing location and available raw materials, there have been some small changes made to the formula as inevitably the ingredients will vary a bit. However, the nutritional profile will be similar and the new cans will have the same high quality as the US made products.
The ingredients for the tins that were manufactured in the US were:
- Pork, rice, turkey, maize, rice flour, dried beet pulp, minerals, dried eggs, flaxseed, ground pecan shell, digest, soybean oil, dried ginger, dried citrus pulp, vitamins, dried cranberries and trace elements.
The ingredients for the tins that are manufactured in the EU are:
- Pork liver, rice, rice flour, maize, chicken, dried eggs, dried beet pulp, minerals, digest, flaxseed, ground pecan shell, soybean oil, dried ginger, vitamins, dried citrus pulp, fish oil, dried cranberries, trace elements and beta-carotene.
The tins which were made in the US have a fat content of 7.8% on a dry matter basis and the ones from the EU have 8.3% on a dry matter basis.
The indications for this diet have not changed. Any time there is a change in food, especially with pets that are more sensitive, a gradual transition is a good idea.
